What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a high-calibre Financial Accountant for a full-time position, based in Perth. This role is pivotal in executing the Group’s financial reporting obligations, reports directly to the Group Financial Controller and interacts closely with our CFO.
This person will prepare all external financial reporting, consolidating our international group and accounting for share-based payments, business combinations and various other transactions using IFRS. You will leverage your strong technical accounting background, ideally gained from audit experience within a Big 4 or similar accounting firm to produce high quality reporting using an existing framework that has been refined over a number of years. Working with our finance team globally across the UK, Spain, Sri Lanka and the US you will be extremely well organised, enthusiastic, diligent and able to work to strict deadlines while paying attention to detail and flexing when necessary.
Here's how you'll do it:
Manage the monthly and annual consolidation of our international group, including various entities with multiple currencies.
Accurately perform consolidation processes in Oracle NetSuite and manage this process for the finance team globally.
Take responsibility for IFRS accounting, including these key areas:
Share-based payments
Business combinations
Financial instruments
Leases
Revenue
Intangible assets
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with external auditors in Perth, but also in the UK and Spain if required.
Provide technical accounting advice and support to the CFO, Group Financial Controller and wider finance team.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls.
What you’ll bring:
Hands-on experience in consolidating international groups with multiple functional currencies, ready to hit the ground running and hand over from our incumbent Financial Accountant.
Experience as an auditor within a Big-4 or similar accounting firm.
In-depth knowledge and practical experience in accounting for share-based payments, business combinations as well as other key international financial reporting standards (IFRS) per above.
CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent).
Ability to work effectively with individuals at varying levels, both internally and externally.
