What’s the opportunity?
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to guide our Data Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of developing our in-house data visualization tool and driving AI-powered product delivery. You'll serve as the crucial link between stakeholder requirements and technical execution, ensuring our solutions are innovative, effective, and meet business needs.

Job requirements

  • Lead Product Development: Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of our in-house data visualization tool and other AI-based data products.

  • Technical Vision & Strategy: Define and articulate the technical roadmap for data analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Stakeholder-Development Liaison: Translate complex business requirements from stakeholders into clear, actionable technical specifications for the development team. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between these groups.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of data engineers and developers. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Architectural Design: Design robust, scalable, and efficient data architectures leveraging Google Cloud products and SQL databases.

  • Code Quality & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and perform code reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables.

  • Project Management: Utilize project management tools like JIRA and Confluence to manage project timelines, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.

  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, bottlenecks, and issues that may arise during the development lifecycle.

  • Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data visualization, AI/ML, and cloud computing, evaluating their potential application within our ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience of 10-15 years, of which at least  6 years in a technical leadership role within a data analytics or data engineering domain.

  • Technical Proficiency:

  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services relevant to data analytics (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Vertex AI, Looker, Cloud Storage).

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with various relational and non-relational databases.

  • Experience with programming languages commonly used in data science and engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Go).

  • Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts and their practical application in product development.

  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker studio etc, with a strong understanding of best practices for effective data storytelling.

  • Project Management Tools: Well-versed in using JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools for agile project management, issue tracking, and documentation.

  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building and maintaining in-house data platforms or products.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
